Speaker Guidelines

Thank you for your participation at GNE! We look forward to working with you to make your experience a success.

To help us ensure that we present you in all your brilliance, please provide us with the following assets; we’ve included specific guidelines for these below.

  1. Headshot Image
  2. Professional Biography

As a speaker or moderator, your photo will appear in multiple places:

  1. GNE Website Speakers Page.
  2. Your own Speaker Post; see this Example Speaker Post.
  3. At the event, on a presentation slide on the BIG screen.

Headshot Image Specifications

In addition to appearing on GNE website, your photo will be projected onto the BIG screen at the event; as a result, we need a high-resolution image that will appear crisp and clear.

We will crop and resize the photo as needed to present it in square dimensions.

Technical Specifications:

  • A high-resolution image
  • Dimensions: 2000px wide minimum
  • File Size: 1Mb file size minimum
  • File Format: JPG or PNG file format.
  • File Name: Please use this format to identify your files: First-Last_year.jpg (Example: Kevin-Vachon_2024.jpg)
  • (Please do not send your image in a PDF file. Please do not include your image in a Word document.)

General Guidelines:

  • A recent, very recognizable photo of you.
  • Facing the camera, looking friendly and professional.
  • Showing your shoulders upward.
  • With a neutral background.

What if I don’t have a photo that meets these specifications?

The average smartphone will take an adequately high-quality image for this purpose.

Stand against a neutral background in good, natural light.

When you save or send the image file, ensure you select the largest format offered.

Bio Specifications

Technical Specifications:

  • File Format: Word document or Text file.
  • (Please, no PDFs as they are difficult to copy from.)
  • File Name: Please use this format to identify your files: First-Last_year_bio.doc

General Guidelines:

  • Details: Name, Company, Position
  • Professional History: 3–5 paragraphs thereabouts.
  • Word Count: Although there is no limit, bios are typically around 200 words in length.
