Ahmad Khalil

Dr. Ahmad Khalil received a B.E. degree in mechanical engineering (Lebanese University, 1997), an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering (Ohio University, 2000), an M. Phil. degree in electrical engineering (The Graduate Center/CUNY, 2002), and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering (The Graduate Center/CUNY, 2005).

Dr. Khalil has held various roles across Tata Communications since joining in 2008 within engineering and product core and connectivity services as well as cloud enablement services. He currently leads innovation in programmable networking and automation. His strategic vision focuses on emerging technologies, steering his team to collaborate with standards bodies and open-source communities. The team’s work involves researching, identifying, and assessing new technologies, while also understanding their potential business impacts. In addition, the team members support proof-of-concept efforts, contribute to code and use cases, foster integration with partners, and define requirements that shape the future of our networks and sets industry standards, contributing to Tata Communications’ position as an industry trailblazer.

Prior joining TATA communications, Dr. Khalil was an associate professor at the Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science department at LaGuardia College of the City University of New York. Dr. Khalil was also the PI/Co-PI of various CUNY internal as well as external grants that focused on networking and engineering education.
