David Shacochis is the product leader for Managed and Professional Services at Lumen. He drives all aspects of value creation across Lumen’s $500M+ managed services business, focused on integrated use-cases across various asset-intensive industry verticals. These efforts leverage all of Lumen’s capabilities across connectivity, security and edge computing. As a senior leader within Lumen’s product and technology organization, he is responsible for cross-functional product strategy, executive client engagement, user experience, supplier alliances, and roadmap development.
David has been a leader in technology services for over twenty years, leveraging his experiences in many of the major divisions of a service provider organization including global operations, customer service, agile development, technical marketing, product management, corporate acquisitions, and systems integration. Over the past fifteen years Mr. Shacochis has been a focused on the product lifecycle at Lumen since taking responsibility for datacenter services and transition them to the millisecond-grade Edge Cloud portfolio that exists today.
David is a noted public speaker and evangelist for the overall Lumen enterprise strategy, having delivered both technical and thought-leadership presentations at major industry forums such as AWS re:Invent, Microsoft Ignite, Cloud Expo and Gartner Symposium among many others. A former engineering professor at George Mason University, his professional experience with firms at the heart of the cloud computing revolution—such as Exodus Communications, Digital Island, Qwest, Savvis, and Tier 3—has built a wealth of technology experience with a variety of clients across diverse industries in both the public and private sector.
David holds a BS in Urban Systems Engineering and an Masters in Business Administration from George Mason University. He is based in the Washington, DC metro area.
